A Little of This and a Little of That

Yesterday was yet again, another busy day and I was just too tired to write so this post will cover a few more things then usual.

Our dinner at Chucks Steakhouse was wonderful, beautiful view, great tunes and awesome food.  I had the 8oz sirloin and Hubby had the special, which had a 6oz fillet of Mahi mahi and a 5oz sirloin steak that was served with taro, Hawaii’s equivalent to a yam but its purple and even sweeter tasting!
After dinner we did some more walking around downtown Waikiki and with the hike up Diamond Head Crater that morning I managed to put 20,000 steps on my pedometer!

Yesterday we were scheduled to go for a tour of the island.  It had a couple of stops including: Hanauma bay, Halona Blow Hole, Pali Lookout, Byodo In Temple, a macadamia nut farm (with all you can eat samples!) and the Dole Plantation.  The stops were great with the exception of the lunch stop, the only crappy food that we have experienced on the island.  The bus ride was interesting:  Both Hubby and I got motion sick on this one and spent a good portion of the tour sleeping off the gravol.  Loved the stop at the Dole plantation and even got a Dole whip float in a pretty neat souvenir cup that Hubby actually wanted!  Beautiful scenery but with the whole motion sick thing, not our best day.  I would only suggest this tour if it was scheduled in your first days here and you couldn’t book a car.
We were so burnt out from the day that dinner consisted of Chinese takeout from just outside our hotel (not greasy and pretty tasty).

Today was a late starter due to us getting up so early every day since we have been here.  Our intentions for the day were to visit Pearl Harbor, but unfortunately because we got up so late, we would have been stuck in a lineup for 3 hours just to get onto the ship so we made a choice to miss it this time, which made me a little sad but made a lot of sense.  Since tomorrow will see us getting up at 5am, we are taking it slow.  Another trip to the mall because my watch’s day counter wasn’t working right and a great find on a dress from Macys and then we are off to the beach for some R&R in the sun!
All I can say is I am SO glad its not +45C here!
